Support

If you have problems or need some advice on high performance computing please contact us here.

Submission- / Job- Issues

If one of your jobs fails or doesn’t run as expected please give us the following informations if possible:

  • jobid
  • cluster where you tried to start / run the job
  • path to a minimal, reproducible, example containing:
    • submission-script
    • path to used binaries and libraries
    • input files
    • expected output / behavior of you program(s)

Installing Software

No matter what type / category of software you need: please tell us on which cluster you need it.

If you need to have software installed on the cluster that requires a paid license, please contact us first to check technical feasibility and if there already licences available on our systems. If we confirm your software is (technical) able to run on our cluster(s) but no licences are available, contact the ITS-Software-Support or ITS-Anlaufstelle to buy or receive needed licences.

free / open licences

When you need to have free software installed on the cluster please tell us what you want to do with this software respectively what features you exactly need; so we are able to build the software best for your needs (eg. build your openmpi version with cuda support).

building toolchains / older software versions

If you need software with a lot of non-standard dependencies, a version older than 2 years or we need to build a full toolchain, additional to previous recommendations, please try to give us test-cases and be precise as you could with your requirements. For example: with which solver(s) your suite should be build with (if there is any possible selection, esp. if they are mutually exclusive)? Do we need to build a dependency with a special compiler, libc, solver or language standards supports? Which parallelizations (openmp, mpi, pthreads,…) should be enabled/combined?
